The BFRB
Connection
A Regulation-Based Approach to Release and Find Peace
BFRB stands for body-focused repetitive behavior, which is a group of behaviors including hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting, lip/cheek biting and more.
I know because I’ve lived the journey:
feeling the shame of hiding in secrecy
fearing the embarrassment of people knowing
frantically searching for tools and “fixes”
exhausting myself from constant use of those tools
feeling defeated and giving up the fight
searching for acceptance
realizing there was a vital piece I’d been missing all along
finding compassion and peace within myself
I’ve walked this road personally—and professionally, helping others do the same. As a psychiatric physician assistant, BFRB/habit coach, and conference speaker, I blend my lived experience with clinical expertise to help others get unstuck and find peace.
Are you…
Exhausted from battling your hair pulling, skin picking, or other body-focused repetitive behavior (BFRB?)?
Frustrated with yourself for not being able to quit?
Ready to try a different approach to get different results?
Wanting to dig deeper and go beyond a behavioral-based plan?
Living with a BFRB can be challenging, for sure. Many people struggle with feeling frustrated, ashamed, and out of control—and then there’s the self-judgment that eats away at your confidence over time.
If you’re tired of fighting your BFRB, know that there’s another way.
I fought my hair pulling for over 20 years before I realized something that changed everything: the pulling wasn't the problem—it was just a signal. And my brain was trying to regulate itself the best way it knew how.
Once I got curious about my BFRB instead of being angry at it, something shifted. I stopped fighting my brain and started working with it—and the urges softened.
I mapped out my path to recovery and started helping others do the same. Through this new lens, clients begin to see their BFRB differently, so they respond to it differently.
Their BFRB urges subside with less effort. They start showing up more fully in their lives — in photos, at the salon, in conversations they'd been avoiding. They take up space in ways that finally acknowledge their uniqueness and power. They begin to heal—not by fixing themselves, but by understanding and honoring themselves.
I want that for you.
Which is why I created The BFRB Connection—so you can learn my signature ARC Approach, receive personalized coaching from me, and be held by a community who actually gets your struggle.
If you think you’ve tried everything, this will hit differently. Come see what becomes possible when you stop fighting and start listening.
What to ExpectThe BFRB Connection is a 10-week group coaching program where you’ll learn a different, refreshingly hopeful way to view and manage your BFRB. In this small-group format, you’ll also be among others who really get your experience and can cheer you on.
This is not a crash-course on fidgets and behavior replacements. It’s a holistic and integrative approach that guides you in understanding yourself better so that you can address your BFRB at the root—dysregulation.
ConceptsI’ll introduce fresh concepts to help you reframe your BFRB. You’ll learn a regulation-based model and discover how the energy behind your actions (such as shifting from self-judgment to self-compassion) transforms how you respond to urges. That shift alone brings clarity, lightens the weight of recovery, and allows your coping tools to finally work.
ToolsYou’ll receive practical tools to apply everything you learn—including my ARC Map, which is the exact framework I use with my private clients. This is 8-module step-by-step guide helps you build a customized action plan so you know exactly what to do before, during, and after an urge strikes.
